Finance and Controlling: keeping an eye on the figures

Proceeding from our corporate values, we always have an eye on the financial position and long-term economic success of our business. This applies to the Blum Group as a whole and of course to the individual companies as well. Our activities revolve around "classical" areas such as Financial Accounting, Controlling and Treasury, in addition to Internal Audit, Legal Affairs and Risk Management.

As you may imagine, we need staff who are familiar with all aspects of finance and accounting. With a company of our size, this naturally involves many interesting tasks and topics.

Our departments in Finance and Controlling

Financial Accounting

External accounting involves preparing the annual financial statements including auditing and financial budgeting with rolling liquidity planning. We are also responsible for ensuring that the statutory provisions are observed in this area.

Controlling

We support our decision-makers with control of the company and ensure transparency in terms of costs and profit. This department performs a wide range of tasks from cost planning through costing to profitability analysis and reporting. We are also responsible for other areas, including annual planning, target/actual comparisons and variance analysis.

Group Controlling

Our main task is operational and financial supervision of our subsidiaries ensuring they maintain the standards laid down by the parent company.

Corporate Accounting

We create the outline conditions and standards for preparation of the consolidated financial statement. In addition, we supply the decision-makers at our company with information on the consolidated group and subgroups.

Treasury

Our central tasks are financing the value creation chain within the company and ensuring its liquidity at all times. We operate here in strict accordance with our corporate principles such as transparency, risk minimisation, economic efficiency and alignment to our core business.

Legal Affairs, Compliance and Risk Management

Here we deal with legal affairs (contracts, company law, etc.), as well as compliance (e.g. Code of Conduct, whistleblower system) and risk management, i.e. handling insurance and the Internal Control System, for example.

Internal Audit / ICS

As an independent and objective auditing and advisory body, we support company departments with safeguarding and optimising their processes (Internal Control System) and with risk management. This helps them improve efficiency and achieve our corporate goals.

I look after subsidiaries all over the world where Finance and Controlling is concerned. This allows me to work with different people from different cultures.
